1- Is it acceptable to install main service disconnects for individual tenant spaces [non grouped as required by Art. 230] of a multi-tenant building where the fire wall separation is rated for 1 Hr.? Fire separation does not protrude roof deck and is constructed of 2 layers of 5/8" drywall on each side

2- Can NM-B cable concealed behind drywall within offices and above Non-Plenum suspended ceilings be installed within an industrial/commercial type structure?

The project concerned was started by another electrician within a jurisdiction of New York that conforms to the 1999 NEC.

334.10 Uses Permitted.
Type NM, Type NMC, and Type NMS cables shall be permitted to be used in the following:
(1) One- and two-family dwellings.
(2) Multifamily dwellings permitted to be of Types III, IV, and V construction except as prohibited in 334.12.
(3) Other structures permitted to be of Types III, IV, and V construction except as prohibited in 334.12. Cables shall be concealed within walls, floors, or ceilings that provide a thermal barrier of material that has at least a 15-minute finish rating as identified in listings of fire-rated assemblies.
