I have a retail store that is using an invertor to run certain downlights in the store as emergency lighting. These downlights have remote LED drivers that are mounted in the back of the store and then low voltage plenum rated cable is run from the LED driver to the Lighting fixtures, the lighting fixture is a 24v DC input fixture. Since this LED fixtures are being used as emergency lighting do the low voltage cable needs to be special rated? Run in Conduit? Does the wiring also need to be rated for a 2 hour fire rating? I understand that these wire needs to be run separately from the normal downlights, most likely in an open cable tray, but do I need to run this low voltage cable in EMT or can I use some sort of fire rated cable.
