Very basic here but would like input

So if a neutral is required at the switch because your not using a raceway or can't access the switch to pull a neutral in the future would you run wiring like this? See pic( bad drawing). My main question is getting power/neutral to each switch.

So you have (2) 1x4 in each room with a switch all on same circuit.

1. You would have to(should) daisy chain the power(red line) from the panel/source in/out of each switch?
2. Then obviously you'd have switch leg(not a loop) up to each light box.

You could also daisy chain the power to the ceiling j-boxes and drop 3 wires to each switch (hot, neutral, and switched hot back to the lights)

Yes true. Then you don't have a switch loop as you usually would brining power to a ceiling box first.

Occupancy sensors changes all this.

I "always" run my feed from switch box to switch box, and use switch legs to the lights. I greatly prefer this to running the feed to the light boxes and using switch loops.

When I re-wired my then-in-law's farm house years ago, the mud-room, kitchen, dining room, and hallway were laid out end-to-end, so each room had 3-way switches.

I ran the 14-2 feed into and out of every switch box, and ran a second 14-2, with the white conductor re-colored, for the travelers between each room's pairs of 3-ways.

I ran the leg out of whichever 3-way switch box was more convenient to go to the ceiling fixture box(es), and fed each 3-way pair the line in the remaining switch box.
