Wiring through concrete wall

I'm installing exterior lights on a small commercial building. I was going to use 4" octagons in the block outside and run through the block to the interior. This wall will be poured with concrete. Do I have to put this in EMT?

Re: Wiring through concrete wall

I know I can't run just individual conductors through there...

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain very well.

I just didn't know if it ok to run MC cable through there even thought the inside of the block will be poured.

Re: Wiring through concrete wall

In general, it can't. See section 330.12(3) and the FPN. You could always sleeve the MC with a suitable raceway.

Re: Wiring through concrete wall

Since the conduit, etc., will be embedded in concrete, thing of it as a permanent concrete form. You can then feed any approved wiring method through the passageway, whether individual conductors or a cable assembly.
