Work around for lack of 30 amp GFCI breakers

I swapped out a panel in August. There was a 30 amp double pole GFCI breaker feeding a hot tub heater. These breakers are not available. I am number 597 on the list of people waiting for a Homeline breaker. 40 amp spa disconnects with GFCI protection however are available. Would it be permissible to replace the existing non fused spa disconnect with the 40 amp GFCI disconnect? The conductors will be protected by the 30 amp breaker in the panel.
 
Sure, a 40 amp GFCI breaker in series with a 30 amp breaker provides both 30A protection and GFCI protection.

Then you'll need to install the GFCI functionality where there's an existing neutral in the supply, or where you can easily provide one. E.g. put the new spa disconnect next to the panel, run a new short feeder to it with a neutral, and put the existing feeder on the load side of the spa disconnect. The non-fused disconnect by the spa would then stay as is.

A bit inelegant, but it would work, if the length of the existing feeder is not too great.
