Working Clearance above a VFD

Does anyone know what the code is for working clearance above a VFD. I am being told that it is 6'. Example is I am trying to coordinate VFD's on my job and they are telling me I cant place them under duct if the duct is less then 6' above my vfd?

The relevant article is 110.26(E). It deals with "dedicated equipment space," not "working clearance," and it does not apply to VFDs. There is no restriction about placing a VFD underneath a pipe or duct.
