I just got a call from a GC I work with in NJ to do a job in Bushkill, PA.
Can my NJ license allow me to work in PA?

Thanks. (Really not looking forward to the 45 mile trip.)

Re: Working in PA?

Joe... welcome to PA!

Some people call PA "the land of 2,000 kingdoms". There is NO statewide licensing of electricians. The only licensing of electricians is done on the local/municipal level. For much of the state, there is absolutely no license required. Only permits and inspections. You do need to check with the township/municipality that the proposed work is in to see if they have any local electrician requirements. For most jurisdictions in PA that do have licensing requirements, you can buy a bond to permits just about any other state's license to reciprocate in their jurisdiction for that job you'll do.

The phone number for Bushkill (Lehman Township), Pike County, Pennsylvania is (570) 588-9365. Call em and ask.
