We are coring holes to install three 1-1/4” conduits in an electrical closet, behind a switchboard. There are no devices on the back side of the gear. There are obstructions in the floor which Prevent coring next to the wall. Does the NEC prevent installation of conduits this close to the switch gear?

Yes there are removable panels on the back side of the switchgear. The conduits would run approximately 12” on the floor and ninety up the wall. But these conduits are 24” from the back of the switchgear. I am not sure if this violates working space requirement?

Even if there are removable panels on the back many types of switchgear are designed to be maintained solely from the front. You would need to know if those panels are needed to be removed for maintenance.
