Situation,Sq-D SES outdoors 3000a 480/277vac with 3000a OCPD,feeds to inside Main Distribution also a Sq-D 3000a, 3 sections bussed together. First section is just to land the incoming feeders, the other 2 sections have fusable disconnects ranging from 800-100a,nothing fancy about it.

Q. Would you require (Inspectors) 30" working space behind this equipment?

(Electricians,EC) How often do you leave 30" behind an install like this?

ps All the underground is in,of course.

Mike,

It does have screwed on panels in the back, but they do not have any handles on them, which is usually the clue that access is needed.

Look at 110.26(A)(1)(a). If the equipment meets that requirement, then no space is required on the back or sides. If not, you need 30".
