Section 110.34 of NEC states that clear working space of equipment "while energized" shall have a minimum distance in accordance with Table 110.34(A). If the equipment has interlocked access doors such that no one can enter the cabinet until the power supply has been disconnected, do these working space distances still apply? For example, if there is a 6.9KV totally enclosed electrical enclosure, is the 4 ft clearance necessary (Condition 1), or can we use 3 ft?
