Working Space-Width

If doors will open 90 degrees you can mount them so they are actually touching each other, but most door designs won't work this way.

Title of thread says working space - if that is your concern you still need 30 inches wide working space according to 110.26, if your equipment is more than 30 inches wide then working space must be as wide as the equipment. So if you have four 30 amp disconnects that are only 6 inches wide, but spaced them on the wall so they measured 40 inches from end to end you need 40 inches of working space, but if same disconnects were spaced on the wall so there is 28 inches from end to end you still need a minimum 30 inches of working space.

In general yes, the 30" or more required space may overlap another piece of equipment as long as the each piece of equipment does not project more than 6" in the required space.

Yes I didn't mention that 6 inch projection rule.
