I am wondering if I need to suggest a another exit/egress door as clouded from the the exiting electrical room is required. The existing MDP is rated for 1200amps but I am not sure it is more than 6'-0" wide. I have attached a PDF for reference.

Thank you
Dan Craven

I would say yes. I would also say the doors need listed panic hardware (push brace to open).

It kind of depends, also, on a couple of different things.

1) Any stuff being installed in the hallway for the sprinklers (piping, valves, etc.).
2) The equipment doors (if any) and the physical size of the MDP.

The rules for a single exit are really up to interpretation so maybe asking the local AHJ might help resolve any questions?

If its only 1200 amps, its probably like an I-line type panel, usually 44" wide at most. Hopefully whoever designed the project drew the panel to the correct dimensions.

How much of this is existing?
You typically do not need to apply new distance/space rules to previously approved installations.
