Worst day ever for this Black Bear

Black Bears must have nine lives just like cats. This poor guy survives being tranquilized, Shocked, Arch Flashed and at least a 40 foot fall. I will warn you this video is a little sad but has some arch flash educational value to it.

Yeah, this has been around awhile, butttttt I have to ask. What was the benefit of darting the bear???? Anyone????? I mean, did they think they could tranquilize him, climb up and drink a beer with him and talk him down?

What was the point of darting him??? "Yeah, let's get him stoned, and see if he can walk down by himself?"

Well, at least maybe he came down with a smile on his face:grin:

Probably trying to slow him down to reduce the chance of a shock. Also to give rescuers time to set up a net or some other device to catch him once he does fall from getting tranqed.

Ken, one of two things are going to happen here, and I suspect the worse. The bear was over top of a can. Like I said, at least he came down smiling:smile:

I can't believe the bear made it. Think he'll climb a pole again?????

It makes my greek brothers suck up just to watch the critter that close to the lines, however we've got more bear up here than we know what to do with, so my first choice to get the bear off the pole would be a 308 not not a tranq gun.
