A new pump is being installed in a sewer basin. The aerators will not be used when the pump is in use. It will be used to pump out the basin after the level drops to about 2 feet. The aerators have an automatic level cutoff. The pump is only 6 amp (100 amp circuit the aerators pull 30 amps) so wire size is not a problem. Can I tap off of the aerator circuit to supply the pump? I have read the tap rules in the NEC and I can't find find a violation, did I miss something?.

as long as you follow the tap rules in 240.21, I see no problem.

Is it a branch circuit or a feeder circuit ? I assume you consider it a branch circuit?

I thought that this aerator would had some small/smart wiring to signal and show the service off line
in a MCC or at least report it as in a neutral state or null statis in some way to some where?
