Currently have an old mechanical Wye-Delta starter on a 100 hp 480 volt Wye Delta 6 lead motor. Motor is mounted vertically on a pump at a cooling tower for condenser water. Considering changing to an electronic soft start. We have 2 motor/pump setups like this and one 3 wire motor/pump with an soft electronic soft start.What do you think would be the best way to do this? Keep the motor and just change the starter? or change motor and starter? As with everyone, budget is a big consideration. Thanks for any advice.
