Is it required by the NEC to install an individual branch circuit to supply all fixed and stationary X-ray equipment? Can one install such equipment in a branch circuit supplying two or more outlets, if its load complies with Section 210.23? Do the requirements of 517.73 apply to individual branch circuits only or other loads can be connected to these circuits?

As per Section 517.71(A), fixed and stationary X-ray equipment shall be connected by means of a wiring method complying with the general requirements of the NEC. Are these requirements those of Article 210 – Branch Circuits?

Mary, welcome.
I have never installed any fixed X-Ray equipment that didn't have specific requirements as per manufacturer. If this is new equipment warranty is an issue . Also note that some manufacturers have voltage drop tables that don't match NEC calcs.

I would go place a call to the manufacturer.

The only X-ray machine I've ever installed, I called the mannufacturer because the rep, that came with machine to the site I was installing it at, recommended I call. Had to pipe the route from the panel to the machine. the wire was over sized, and it had it's dedicated circuit. This was just an X-ray machine for a vetinarian's place of business!
