so here is the xfmr/relay combo that stopped working

it's a "NO" relay that also gives 12 volt to some mag switches
when they pick , relay closes, strip light comes on

so i couldn't get ahold of the company any more

so i was going to cobble together a "UL listed replacement" with an electronic xfmr, a miniature 12vac coil/120vac relay and some new mag $s
but occams razor says there has got to be a better way
any other ideas?
thanks!

Your link does not work and I have no idea what you are talking about.

Apparently you have:
1. A transformer with 12 V output. What is its purpose?
2. A normally open relay contact.
3. A relay of which the relay contact is part of.
4. A strip light.

How are these connected together?
What controls the relay coil?
What does the relay contact control?

.

thanks for your cheerful reply to my vague statement! =)
hopefully this link works

Apparently you have:
1. A transformer with 12 V output. What is its purpose?
to feed power to some zip cord, secured to a 110v strip light, going to a pair of mag switches, that make when a closet door is opened
2. A normally open relay contact.
when the closet door is opened, the mag $s separate, the relay makes, the contacts pass 110v to the strip light
3. A relay of which the relay contact is part of.
and is apparently a combination relay and xfmr
but you know, assumed that its 12v. I did not measure voltage at the zip cord feeding the mag switches. I do remember holding my tic to the zip cord and to the primary.
4. A strip light.

How are these connected together?
What controls the relay coil?
What does the relay contact control?

I would bet that you can get a 'RIB' to do the job.

The Dry Contact Input RIB provides the low-voltage (Class 2) power needed to activate the relay (self-powered) ? just close the dry-contact input.
