Can a 45kva xfrmr be ceiling hung or wall mounted above a doorway? Seems like it could be dangerous and not sure if code disallows it

I agree with Gus but would consult with a structural engineer first, code compliance doesn't cover everything.

Why would it be more dangerous above a doorway than not above a doorway?

And in a Road Runner cartoon it would be an Acme transformer, and not one from Square D, Hammond, or another manufacturer.

At least the doorway would give you an avenue of egress should you happen to hear some crashing down from above,,,, just sayin.
