Xfrmr & Panel Distance

Is there NEC code regarding how far a transformer can be from the primary OCPD? I want to mount xfrmr 40' away from panel feeding it.

No requirement on distance other than if it's not "in sight from" it needs to be lockable.

It also needs to be marked to indicate the location of the disconnecting means.

There is no restriction on the length of the conductors that supply the transformer, but 240.21(C) puts length restrictions on the conductors that are supplied by the transformer.
