I hope this is posted in the correct forum, if not please correct me so I can ask in the correct area.
Has anyone had any experience with a product called Xpower energy saver, it appears to be capacitor's and proprietary parts in a gray round cylinder.
I have seen it demoed but I am not convinced it is for real, as when the unit is plugged into the top half of a duplex recpt, and a small bath fan is plugged into the bottom half of the same duplex recpt. there is no amp change. Of course when checking the amperage with their test set up amps drop from .76 to .43amps.
Anyone seen this product ???

Several products of a similar nature have been discussed on this forum. In all cases, it was universally agreed that the product under discussion had no value. I strongly suspect this to be another case of "snake oil."

The internals are probably nothing more significant than a capacitor. That can reduce the total amps of a motor circuit. But it will not reduce the energy bill of a residential building, because the utilities generally do not charge an extra fee related to power factor.

I would not give this particular product any more of your time, and I would not allow the salesperson back into your office. The price will be high, and you will never get your money back through reduced utility bills.
