Yard Signs

I am contemplating having some of the yard signs made up by a screenprinter. They look like the political signs you see along the road in November. I'll have about 20 of these signs made up and would like to stick them in the ground at busy intersections, mediums, and anywhere else I can get away with. The signs are only 5.50 each so if someone doesn't like it and throws it away I don't care. Can anyone share what works for them and what should I know about where I can and where I can't put these signs? (no funny remarks thank you :)

Thanks for your help?

And how well does all the others stuff work,. key chains, refrigerator magnates, pens...?

Re: Yard Signs

The only time I would recommend using yard signs is on your job sites. We use signs made with vinyl lettering and cost about $25 a piece. We do mostly commercial work and the signs can also be placed in windows of buildings you do work in.

I would stay away from randomly placing signs. There are even laws that govern political signs. By law the political signs need to be picked up by a certain date, I think they have a week to pick them all up.

Check the laws in your area, you could get fined.

Re: Yard Signs

Be careful with this. I wouldn't invest a lot of $$$ before finding out whether or not you can post these signs. Some towns here in in NJ require permits to post signs on lawns, etc. Check with your area before hand.

Re: Yard Signs

In our area it is illegal to place signs on public property. There is a $50.00 fine for each sign that is picked up by the public works dept.
Now if you have an open house, garage sale, etc. You have to get a $25.00 permit which is good 24 hrs. The only exception is political election signs which cant go up more than 24hr before and can not stay up longer than 24hr after the election.

Now, what we do is put yard signs in the "homeowners" yard while the job is in progress because it is local code that we have a sign on the job.

Personally, I would invest more in the 2sided 4wheeled type sign. Some call it a service truck.

If you ever visit Tampa you will see them every where. We even have vendors setting up on the side of the roads. But do check first to see if its legal

Re: Yard Signs

What I have done is this. I purchased a cargo trailer. Looks nice but has an axil problem, but does work. Cost me 700 bux. My neighborhood will not let me put up a sign but they will let me own a cargo trailer. Letter the trailer and put it outside the home or business. advertising on wheels.
