Yearly Maintenance Permit

Hello All

Does anyone have experience with a yearly maintenance permit in Massachusetts?
The company that recently hired me said one is needed to be filled out at the beginning of the year.
The previous permit was applied for by a outside contractor.
I am there first in house electrician.
The plant runs 24x6.
I can't see what the other two shifts are doing (directly).
If no one in the state of Massachusetts other states input is appreciated too.

No big deal, I was the permit holder for a place in RI and the company I work for has open maint. permits at a few locations.

In general the permit is for repair work only and all new work at the facility needs another permit pulled.
