The other day I was asked to look at the existing control setup for a gas heater in a yoga studio.
It’s not their only heat source, They use the heater when they have “Hot Yoga” classes to get the room up to a very warm temperature just for the time period of the class.
It is currently on a spring wound 60 minute timer mounted on the wall where normally a t-stat would be located.
It has 18-5 stat wire that goes up to the heater, so they’re only using the red and white to turn the heater on for the set time period.
Their complaint is that the timer wears out fast and they were wondering if there’s a different option to perform this same function.
Apparently they’ve had to change out the timer switch a couple of times in the last four years since the studio opened.
I’m looking for suggestions that anyone can offer as an alternative?
Thanks!
