Good morning,
I have a Zinsco substation with incoming 13kV service. It has a Zinsco main disconnect and Zinsco transformer (distribution section was replaced)

I also have some Zinsco commercial panels that are up to 400A at 277/280V.

I am very familiar with the standard residential panels, but I have never seen (and hope to never see again) a Zinsco Substation.

So, is the substation known to be problematic? What about the commercial panels?

Thank you!

I suspect they are actually Federal Pacific , have seen some of those floating around with Zinsco nameplates. Have any photos?

Thought you were talking substation stuff, I don't know much about those little breakers. The 15kV disconnect switch does look like FP though from what I can see in the photo.

Yep that's a FP LI Switch. Also looks like they replaced a breaker with an Eaton VCB so probably a VCP-W but no way to tell with the door closed.

Zinsco / Sylvania used FPE breakers for anything over 225 amperes, & over 240V, but never knew they had gear over 600V, those Zinsco panelboards are most likely bolt-on breakers, which don't seem to as problematic as Zinsco plug-in residential products, just bloody expensive for used stuff that has not been built in over 30 years.
