I was at service call today and well I have never worked on a Zinsco Panel.
It seems that when I flip a breaker off and on that the whole thing moved in and then out like a spring. The panel looked fine and the buss bar looked good to. Can anyone tell me if that is normal for a Zinsco Panel.

If you're saying the whole breaker moved in and out like a spring; no, that's not normal. Completely believable, but not normal.

Did the handle move in and out or did the breaker move in and out. Did you pull the breaker off and look at the back side.

Not just the breaker but the whole thing moved in when I applied just a little bit of pressure, and as soon as I removed my hand it went back to its original position.

Thats all it would take for me to suggest replacing a zinsco panel.

Good man!

If you're ever faced with a Zinsco panel that's not seriously messed up, all you're looking at is a Zinsco panel that's not messed up... yet!

Worst electrical burn I ever got was off a 15 amp Zinsco {plasma cutter} breaker. Molten copper everywhere

Well it looks like this type panel is known for problems, and I read else where that the breakers are known not to trip. It sounds like I will be replacing the panel box. I found on the panel a date stamped March 5 1969. Thanks for all the input.
