I have a problem with a fire alarm system, panel is Fire Burglary Isntrument circuit is 4 wire and there is a trouble on zone 1 (it is the only zone with a yellow led) there is other led for trouble. Most of the devices are System Sensor 2312/24B and other older models. Super called me and say that Panel start beeping and bell went off , he saw one SD with red led on so he removed it.when back to panel and and try to reset everything but still there is a trouble in the system. My question where can I find some info on troubleshooting these system? Thanks

Trouble Zone 1

Okay first question is why did the idiot super play with a LIFE SAFETY SYSTEM  All that should be needed is a fire alarm tech (NJ Licensed) to go there and troubleshoot the fa system. If you don't have someone on staff then contact a Fire alarm company. The removal of a fire alarm device has disabled the zone that is in trouble and that's why the trouble is on the FACP until it is properly restored it will stay that way and the fact that the super stated the smoke had a red led lit means the alarm system was tripped where was the Fire Dept? they should have been automatically dispatched by the FACP.

ehehehehehehe.. before the building burns down try re-installing the detector head that was removed. I recommend a new replacement head to avoid nuisance false alarms. If the trouble light doesn't clear pass the liability buck on to a qualified fire techie.. FBI troubleshooting docs are non-existant.. at least I've never seen one.

THis may sound Stupid, But is the detector supervised...If the detector is, and it is out of the base this may be what is causing the trouble on the panel, No if the detector did go into alarm and then the bell rang, You might wanna check the EOL on the Bell, Maybe the resistor dun burnt out.....

Sounds like the head that he removed was re-installed incorrectly. If not then the zone in question will need some troubleshooting. This isn't really difficult but if your knowledge of FA systems is limited or you're unqualified, then I would call in a tech from the FA company.
