For the small wall pack at the above link, when of the fluorescent variety (e.g., lamped with a twisty compact fluorescent lamp), the wall pack unit itself would not have a ballast. Agreed ? I'm just trying to understand what kind of animal this wall pack, in the fluorescent variety, is.

I guess there are 2 scenarios:

1. standard (twist in) base on florescent lamp (self-contained ballast).


2. Pin style based florescent lamp (separate ballast).



For a definitive answer - I suggest putting a call into the manufacturer.

I think they have a flourescent ballast judging by this cut sheet.
Note and search the bulb type. 4 pin it looks like.

I also would not expect a "twisty" CFL to be easy to find in 26W output, nor for the ventilation to be good enough for a self-ballasted lamp.
***Never mind, I also see that this uses two 13W lamps.
Finally, if the luminaire is being specified for energy efficiency reasons, it cannot be made in a way that allows a screw base lamp to be used.
