Question regarding a piece of electrical equipment being decomm'd. If the conductors feeding the equipment are taken off the breaker, what does the code say about leaving the conductors feeding the equipment stuffed in the conduit and capping the conduit.

Thanks, Jay

As far as leaving power conductors in conduit the code says nothing.

I would suggest putting a box with cover at the end of the conduit.

If you are doing this work per a statement of work (SOW) or specification, you should see if there are any requirements for how far back to demolish the wiring feeding the decommissioned equipment. While the code doesn't have any requirements on what to do with these conductors, often there are requirements in the SOW or specification for what to do with out of service conductors once the equipment is disconnected. These may reflect the owner's requirements which often exceed the minimum required by code, especially if this was equipment in a industrial plant or similar facility.
