4sq in block walls

Wondering if it's code compliant to use a normal 4sq box in a cmu block wall with a mud ring. Definitely make it easier with more room than a 1g masonry box. I've seen it done before just curious

Just make sure put duct tape on it to avoid concrete coming into the box and use the right mud ring raised and also attach the equipment grounding bonding pigtail to get ready your box to install the device

We typically use a square box with a raised cover in these walls. You can use set screw connectors if you want and tape them if you think that some mortar might get into the fitting. We don't even bother taping them since they're not in poured concrete almost nothing gets through them anyway.
