MV Generator Breaker

Our generator specification calls for the generator circuit breaker but is a debatable issue, whether it is required or not , as the MV generator breaker is an expensive item.

I think that at that level (i mean, the specification) it would up to the higher ups. As for protection is concerned, both faults and overloads can be covered by the MV CB at the panel - provided that a proper protection philosophy is applied.
