there are around 30 substations in our plant and the company would like to conduct a study to improve the stability and reliability of all substations. my question what is the new technologies we can ask to have in our plant?

Your industrial site must be a large one, to have 30 sub-stations feeding your equipment.
I also worked at an industrial site that had about 10,000 motors of horsepower, ranging from 2000 HP/2300 volts down to smaller horsepower at 575 volts.
If this was my site, I would request my good friends at Cooper Bussman Inc. to assist me with the following.
1. They have an Electrical Plan Review Manual
EPR_1 to teach short-circuit currents ,
interrupting ratings, etc.
2. I would have them develop a single-line
diagram of my sites 30 sub-stations.
3. Develop on that single-line diagram your site
fault interrupting current rating.
4. Develop a selective fuse co-ordination for
your site.
