Outdoor wall light challenge

Steel octal box on outside wall with light fixture. Customer just had the house resided with stucco, with trim that now comes close enough to the box that a light fixture won't fit. If it were indoor, I could simply attach a steel box extension. But being outside, that's not acceptable. I don't want to dig out the present box to install a weatherproof box, since the stucco repair will be costly, and it was just done a week ago. But do I have an alternative?

Round W/P extension box, clear caulk between the extension box and the stucco, small gap at the bottom.

Alternatively the extension and a addition of the same thickness popout (squared) around the outlet is a solution.
Either the stucco guy is pricey or the electrician is pricey...

To quell any question, yes of course the popout would need a skim of stucco and paint...the square should be large enough for a coach light base. Sometimes a thick painted block of wood can be obscure enough..
