Should a load center connected to a ranch panel with triplex be bonded?
The load center is the branch circuit distribution source for the house it's in the garage.
Its effectively a sub panel therefore i say it shouldn't be bonded my employer says otherwise.
If I understand correctly, while no longer allowed by current code, what you are describing was quite common and still permitted for existing installations.
It's a outdoor pole mounted meter main with a small amount of distribution and 200 amp feed through bussing.. yes garage and house are one building and This is a new residents
What code cycle are you under? If it's '08 or later you are suposed to have a separate EGC and float the neutral at the house. '05 and before your boss is correct.
We are under 08 pretty sure our jurisdiction is only 4 years behind on the applicable code book. It was a real abortion I wanted to flip the guts and 're land the feeds I was told the panel was fine. They blocked the ground and neutral bars pretty good.
