Here's the situation: 12-foot wall in a dwelling kitchen. 4-foot countertop right in the middle of it. Two receps installed 1' from each end of the c'top. See drawing below.

Question: Are more receptacles required by 210.52 in the light-blue shaded areas?

If possible, explain your response.

No the rec that are at counter top height are with in 6' of the end of the wall.
You could get by with one rec if it was in the dead center.

By the way I want to give 480Sparky a big thanks for putting my thoughts into an image and starting this thread.

But we all know as long as the receptacle is not over 5 1/2 ft. off floor or located within a cabinet that is counts towards the required receptacle as outlined in 210.52.

That counter receptacle is well within the 6' required wall spacing. no other code requires another receptacle on the wall.

210.52(A)(1) Any space 600 mm (2 ft) or more in width (including space measured around corners) and unbroken along the floor line by doorways, fireplaces, and similar openings
Wouldn't this include a bar?
