I went to a BAD neighborhood this week, pricing a copper theft repair. HVAC unit outside was cut open and coils stolen, all wire in crawl space was cut out. Most all windows were broken.
I often carry a concealed weapon, usually lock in truck while on property. This time, I not only carried with me, but open carried on my belt. I had property owner's permission, so criminal charges were not a concern. An innocent passerby on street would not notice, but anyone approaching me would clearly see it, front of body, crossdraw style. I had to let people know I refused to be a victim. I think I have the job, will carry open then too. If I had more options I wouldn't even take the job, but I can't afford to turn down anything right now. Work around here is too hard to come by.
