Working on a job were the engineer has three 4.5 kw 480 single phase heaters that are thermostatically controlled through a 3 pole contactor in a fused three phase MCC bucket. First heater is on phase AB, second BC and third CA. I presume to balance load and reduce current per phase.
I have never seen this done this way before and have looked through article 427 and didn't see anything that says this isn't legal. I'm curious if this is and acceptable/legal method of wiring electric heaters.
