Unless the device is specifically listed for use with spade type connectors, those type connectors are not permitted for terminating conductors to the device.
Just recently, manufacturers have been getting some of their devices listed for use with spade type connectors.

Just strip the wire a bit further back and leave about 1/2 inch of insulation on the end. It will wrap neatly around the screw . That picture looks like the work of a 7 year old. Kindly take away his tools and hand him a broom.
