Any problems with running the power cord from a sump pump up through a 2" PVC conduit up to a 12"x12"x4" pvc J box and installing a GFCI recpt in the J box. I need to keep kids from tampering with plug and recpt
This is one area that is always a problem for me too, you don't want the receptacle in the sump pit because they get excessive condensation on them and fall apart, or if GFI's they quit working. But you technically can't run them through a pipe. So I like to think of the 2" PVC as a ""Sleeve" and not a "Raceway". If it is a short run.
We do this install all the time for septic pumps. 2" pvc from a control box into the concrete tank. We always have to use duct seal or some sealant to keep the methane gases from entering the electrical enclosure.
