1. 32 is too young to call yourself a master. It's more than passing a test.
2. Never be happy someone quit or lost a job. Try to be an adult about it.
3. You're not always right (though I know the feeling)
4. Throw away your bender.

1. Age has nothing to do with my state issued license. Although I see where you are going with this. I openly admit that I learn something new everyday. I don't and have never claimed to know it all. I also teach something new to my apprentices and others at least once a day.
2. Did not say I was happy what I said was "problem solved"
3. Your absolutely correct....no one is perfect. But I am right more often than not. When I want something done a certain way it should be done that way no arguments or questioning because you've done it like this before....for example
A. We install bushings on all of our conduits not because its required but because its professional.
B. We do not stab into the backs of receptacles here. Not that you can't but we don't.
C. We use anti shorts on mc cable. Don't have to but cheap insurance and its professional.
D. We run ground conductors in our conduits to ensure the system, not because we have to its the right thing to do.
4. I frankly am not sure what to say here maybe I'm just not hip on running flexfor my whole run, lbs for nonetheless or factory fittings and elbows. If you don't want to bend conduit then you should be a pipe fitter or a plumber.

I say "throw away your bender" Mr. Crmeschke because a little planning alleviates most bends except needed 90's. Also the correct strap will alleviate the need for ugly box offsets. You're a good sport.

god, i love a troll......

correct strap? is that meaning that one hole straps are
incorrect?

so, you are telling me that in an exposed installation,
box offsets are a waste of time?

the only time i see would be wasted would be redoing
the stuff you put in exposed without box offsets, after
i got the field check filled out.

As a rule I normally stay away from these controversial and/or mean threads, but I just want to make one comment. I have never been on a job where it would be acceptable to not bend offsets at boxes.

He is probably talking about these:
http://www.edwardssupply.com/product.php?productid=472016&cat=2368&page=1

I don't like them unless you are running ridgid or using compression fittings.
They still pull the emt back and put a bow in the pipe if used between 2 boxes or instead of a box offset they bow the emt also. We use them because the owner said we were going to..........

yeah... backstraps. i'm sure he uses them on all his projects, along with the
malleable iron straps that go with them.

only place i've ever seen them used, due to the cost, is sewage treatment
plants or refineries, with RMC or robroy.....

how shall i put it... it was more the flavor of the content he posted than it's
substance... a strong similarity to bile.... the first thought that i had when
i read it... was... "field check"....

I really wouldn't expect you to understand. I've seen your posts from the past and that explains it all. Instead of banging on pipe your journeyman should have taught you how to bend pipe.

The fundamental differences that separate a professional electrician from a handyman electrician are small distinguishable nuances like;
Bending box offsets
Not sleeving romex in out door conduit
Not back stabbing receptacles
I could go on but I don't think I need to.

Well, first I got called a handyman, and now I get called a troll. Congratulations. I won't miss you people.

keep posting with the 'tude of a 14 year old, and you will be rewarded with a
wealth of salutations to expand your experience here.

i thought "troll" was giving you the benefit of the doubt.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet)

"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,
extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community,
such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with
the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response."

as you seem to feel you aren't a troll, that leaves me few
salutations that won't get erased by the moderators.

the most succinct characterization that comes to mind, is
"incompetent", but that is subjective, in the absence of
seeing your work firsthand, so we won't use that.

after we have subtracted the bender, and the offsets, i am
kinda curious what your branch circuit pipework looks like.
i want to see how this planning that you claim to be good
at works for you.

i've been doing this for 35 years. i'm 56. but i'm still learning
every day, and i anxiously await your lesson.... how fun!
half inch emt with factory 90's and no other bends....
do you use those condulet thingies for the hard parts?

wheeee!!!!

a public apology....

a public apology....

upon reflection, i'd like to apologize publicly
to richardtheelectrician for my remarks characterizing
either the content of his posts, or his craftsmanship.
the attack was unwarranted, inappropriate, and
unprofessional. i have no justification for my actions
worthy of entering here, other than a sincere apology.
