I agree if you mean razor knife. But if you mean old fashioned electricain's jack knife I couldn't disagree more.

Why the rule against using razor blades? That's one of the electrician's main tools. A razor knife is the only thing that works on large size THHN/XHHW conductors.


IMO regular razors slip too easily and you really don't control the cut, it follows the path of least resistance.
I have used the hook blades and the Klein 1550-24 and 1570 for years with great results.

I've always used a razor knife and I've never had this problem. This isn't rocket science we are talking about here. :confused:
