Most manufacturers have techs who are trained in Standards and NEC Code in regards to their equipment.
There are also times where the representative of the company will have other company related information to assist in the installation or tell you part of the installation instructions do not permit "x" type of installation.
And they will email you a written statement for your records, which may come in handy with the inspector.
When I was an inspector and came across a situation I was not familiar with, a letter from the Manufacturer would satisfy me most times.
