are you talking about superceding without precise code rule, or something else entirely (not sure I understand )?


If I have been understanding his previous posts on the subject 240.4(D) always applies and there is no specific permission to ignore it at any time.

Am I summing it up right Mark?

Yes many believe you can flatly ignore 240.4(D) if the item served is an air conditioner... Although 240 says A through G. And 240.4(D) says "Specifically" - and I see nothing "specific" in any of the codes listed in G to allow ignoring this - or for any reason.

Anyway - not going to thread-jack - although it is the same topic.... 'limiting small conductor amperage' :roll:
