Thomas and Betts "stakons" are copper, they are "listed" and they do not require the Buchannon 4 point crimper to use them. The actual listed tools for the use of "stakons" are two point crimpers found in the Thomas and Betts catalog. If using a solid wire, twist it first before crimping and you get every bit as good a crimp as a wire nut. If somebody cannot get a barrel tube to crimp on properly, I would suspect they are not qualified to install wire nuts either.

i use the crimp connectors with the listed four point tool. I really like them. It makes a good solid connection and takes less room in the box.
