electric bill has doubled since May

Happy Holidays!! We have noticed since about May that our electric bill has almost doubled not only in price but KW as well. We did not add an addition or build a pool and the house was built is 2005 and when we moved in 2 years ago we replaced all of the appliances and just replaced the hot water tank last Monday. We did a breaker test and nothing really slowed it down enough to he noticeable. I understand it will go up with AC etc but for instance the last bill for the same time here in Nov/Dec we used 30kwh this most recent bill we used 58kwh in the same time period, actually 33 days opposed to 34 last year. We did finish our basement but really only use it on weekends, no dehumidifier etc. Any thoughts? Or next steps? We did a breaker test and nothing caught out eye.
