That is the rating of the device, not the listing information.

Can you land 12 AWG conductors on a 30 amp switch? Even a 60 amp switch?

It might be somewhat rare you would land 12 AWG on a 30 amp receptacle, but I don't think it is prohibited either.


termination smallest conductor is for a 10# it list it -- 12# under its terminal is non compliant --- why are you discussing switches in a receptacle discussion???? BTW they allow 14# guage under their termination

Switch was just something else that likely is similar. Want to go with panelboards instead? 125 amp main lug panel can have 14 AWG conductors landed on supply lugs - presuming they will accept conductors that small, most probably accept at least as small as 8 AWG.

I don't know what white book may have to say, but I really doubt you absolutely must land a 10 AWG conductor on a 30 amp receptacle, though most instances you probably will.
