I have a gym space. I want to connect lighting at 277volts, single phase - 3 circuits with one neutral ( i.e. 3 hot and a neutral) in 3/4" conduit. Is this considered a MWBC - multi wire branch circuit? Will NEC 2008 - 210.4(B) apply here? Thanks.

Yes, what you have described is a multiwire branch circuit and 210.4(B) would apply.

Branch Circuit, Multiwire. A branch circuit that consists of two or more ungrounded conductors that have a voltage between them, and a grounded conductor that has equal voltage between it and each ungrounded conductor of the circuit and that is connected to the neutral or grounded conductor of the system.

Sharan,

As Chris has noted, what you describe is a multiwire branch circuit. Meaning ALL of Section 210.4 would be applicable to your installation.

While you did not ask, you did say:

...and while I hate to continue to stir this particular pot...

I thought it important to note that since you are utilizing 277-volts, this makes your lighting choices limited to pretty much ballasted lighting. This means that (at a minimum) parts of your installation are most likely subject to the requirements of Section 310.15(B)(4)(c)...

I do hope this is helpful...

Grouped

I believe it is to be "grouped" by wire tie or other similar means. Circuit marking the neutral while not required is an excellent idea
