Attic wiring

Newer construction with NM secured nicely along a floor strongback/header. However, this is a storage area (walk-up attic with tons of storage area and a plywood floor). Just confirming that the cables are not properly protected from damage.

It appears that the cables are parallel to the edge for a major portion of the run. If they are 1-14" in. from the edge I don't see a violation.
When the turn and run along the egde they would need protection IMHO.

MHO Install an other 2x4 beside it and may be one on top.

This is an unusual installation. I am going to say that additional protection would be required on the exposed side (left side looking at the picture) of the cables. The storage of whatever there could damage the cables.

I would agree, the romex would need protection from physical damage 334.15 (B)

My concern would be more about the ceiling being used to bear weight than where the Romex was.
