So someone Unibitted their way into the back of a fiber O.W. box and connected BX wire to it? If it wasn't so hack, it would be hysterical.

Not BX/AC, Its MC - MC has a EGC. Stranded MC actually!

Now, my question regarding the last pic - Is it really violating any codes? Cant we make our own knockouts in the field? If it was AC cable, I would say the violation would be no ground, but since its MC, the EGC can be connected to a receptacle.

Depends on the size of the cable. I have no idea what size a cat5 wire would be. Is that what the conduit is for or was it there before you did anything?

Thats new work, done by me. I found the buried splice demoing the receptacle below. I need to get 7 Cat 5's down that wall, I figure 4 in one ?" and 3 in the other with a spare.

I think 7 cat5's is pretty tight for 1/2"
I always run 1" for data drops and that's how we bid it.

I am working on a school in BR this summer, also.

It seems there has been no inspections at said school for 55 years.

It is nice to see our taxpayer dollars hard at work:rolleyes:
