Question on Schedule 80 PVC pipe in trench???

Can someone point out the required depth in a trench in general landscaping at a residence for schedule 80 PVC that will contain 120V and 240V wiring? I know schedule 40 is required to be 18" but can the trench be more shallow with schedule 80 PVC? Thanks!

There is no difference in the NEC between schedule 40 and 80. They are both considered Nonmetallic Raceways.

Sorry, there is. The NEC requires Sch 80 in locations exposed to damage, such as on a pole. This was added in the 05 NEC and mirrors the UL White Book....
 
Yes I agree, Theroy is that a weed eater might "well eat" scedule 40" and not 80. Go figure.
I can't tell much difference. Accept 80 is more brittle.
 
I didn't say there wasn't a difference in the pipe, I said the NEC doesn't recognize it.:)
