Can someone point out the required depth in a trench in general landscaping at a residence for schedule 80 PVC that will contain 120V and 240V wiring? I know schedule 40 is required to be 18" but can the trench be more shallow with schedule 80 PVC? Thanks!

There is no difference in the NEC between schedule 40 and 80. They are both considered Nonmetallic Raceways.

Sorry, there is. The NEC requires Sch 80 in locations exposed to damage, such as on a pole. This was added in the 05 NEC and mirrors the UL White Book....
I've noticed that Sch 80 has quite a bit thicker wall and the internal diameter is smaller.
I didn't say there wasn't a difference in the pipe, I said the NEC doesn't recognize it.![]()

I can't tell much difference. Accept 80 is more brittle.
You are correct, my "bad", I posted to the wrong "Quote".
